hello.

Growing up, I was a thin girl with a great metabolism, never having to worry about what I was eating. Shortly after high school, I moved out on my own and became less active. Slowly my weight crept upwards of 50 pounds.

During these years and months I became quite numb to it. I would avoid pictures and scales wherever I could. One day, something changed and I forced myself to look at photos, and come to reality about what I had allowed to happen. And, of course, the tears came. How did I let this happen? How could this happen to me? From that day forward, I vowed to lose the weight. It took a year. My short-term failures lead to problem-solving, and ultimately sustainable changes that are the spine of Whiskey Tango Fitness. Through community, support, and accountability, I found a way to live a balanced, healthy, and happy life — and I'm here to share that with you!

Whiskey. Tango. Fitness.

I chose Whiskey Tango Fitness to honor my late Uncle Joseph Findley. Who, for many decades, was a pilot, and tragically died in a gliding accident in 2002. When he was flying, his tail number was Whiskey Tango and everyone that knew him, knew that name. This also was in reference and came to life because of his love of Wild Turkey. Growing up, I would constantly hear stories of my Uncle traveling all over the world. He would pop in and out, here and there, to visit us and we would hear about his latest adventures. My Uncle from, a VERY young age, knew he wanted to be a pilot and there was nothing that would stop him.

He began flying gliders, and soon became an instructor himself at that airport. After some time, he became a mechanic at United Airlines where he eventually worked his way up through the channels and became a Pilot for them in 90's. Sitting here, I realize just how much we had in common, and I wish more than anything he were here to share in my excitement of starting my own business. He would absolutely be the one to tell me, “don’t be scared to chase your dreams and give it your all!”

I admire what a hard-working man he was and how he taught me without even realizing it that no dreams are too big, to pursue your passions, and enjoy what you are doing. He had the best sense of humor, and every time we would get together the room was filled with laughter. This makes me smile today, because I know that he would be cracking up to know that I named my business after him—and coincidentally the initials turned out to be WTF!

I love you Uncle Joe. I hope to make you and your tail name proud as you did for your short but fulfilling 44 years. Salut. Starting my own business created solely from passion to help others is by far the most rewarding thing I have done aside from becoming a mommy.

Knowing that what I am doing is helping folks feel comfortable in their own skin & better cope with other aspects of their lives is an amazing feeling.

Whiskey Tango Fitness all about empowering people to take control of their health, build relationships with others while enjoying getting healthy. We are ALL in this TOGETHER. Let’s get started on becoming healthier, stronger and most of all HAPPY!
